This course runs for 12 hours (2 days)  and complies with the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) requirements and is suitable for anyone who works with children and young people. The course meets all the requirements as set by the Early Years Foundation Stage/Ofsted and the course content is in  line with The Red Cross/St Johns Ambulance training courses covering all subjects. The course includes hands-on Defibrillator/AED training.

New Era is an experienced local training provider specialising in childcare qualifications and CPD courses and has been a  Lancashire County Council authorised provider for many years.

Our Trainers are suitably qualified holding A1/A2 Assessor, D34, PGCE/Cert Ed, First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid.

New Era meet  Matrix standards and is an NCFE/CACHE awarding Body.

Certificates are issued on successful completion of the course and the course contents are detailed on the reverse.

The cost is £75.00 per person and places are secured on us receiving your payment.  Please note that  non-payment may result in your places being re-offered to those on the waiting list.  Once you are booked on we will email to confirm and advise you about parking and access.

This two day course is suitable for people responsible for looking after children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools,

pre-schools, schools, before and after school clubs, childminders and carers of children at home, enables attendees to be able to :

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider

  • Assess an emergency situation safely

  • Understand how to administer emergency first aid to an infant, child or adult who is suddenly unwell or suffering from chronic illness.

  • Provide emergency first aid to an infant, child or adult

Millie’s Mark

This course can help Nurseries and other providers looking to apply for Millies Mark.

Millies Mark is a new initiative currently at pilot stage to provide a gold standard to those nurseries and providers who meet the criteria.  To be eligible for Millie’s Mark all staff working directly with children must have an up-to-date paediatric first aid certificate (1 day Emergency Paediatric or 12 hour full Paediatric). Organisations must satisfy additional criteria and have completed due diligence checks.  Read more here

Millie’s Trust is a charity that was created by the parents of Millie Thompson who tragically passed away in a choking incident in October 2012.
